The 10th Science Koshien National Convention (sponsored by the Japan Science and Technology Agency, co-sponsored by Ibaraki Prefecture, etc.) was held for three days from March 19 to 21 at the Tsukuba International Congress Center and Tsukuba Capio in Tsukuba City.Last year, the national convention was canceled for the first time due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and this year it was the first national convention to be held in two years (no spectators).The 47 prefectural representative schools nationwide that were selected challenged the challenges by mobilizing all the knowledge and utilization ability related to science in a team of XNUMX to XNUMX students in the first and second grades, and competed for the overall score.Kyoto Prefectural Rakuhoku High School won the first overall victory in the second appearance based on the total score of the written competition and the third type of practical competition. Second place was Shibuya Educational Academy Makuhari High School (Chiba Prefecture), and third place was Shizuoka Prefectural Hamamatsu Kita High School.

Kyoto Prefectural Rakuhoku Senior High School is a prefectural co-school with a history and tradition that was opened in XNUMX and is the predecessor of Kyoto Prefectural Junior High School (the oldest old junior high school in Japan). He made his first appearance in the "Science Koshien" in the XNUMXth tournament, and was honored with the overall victory in his second appearance.
