Toho University of Music holds the "Japan Orchestral Percussion Solo Contest" with the aim of improving the individual performance level of junior high school and high school students and enlightening the spread of orchestral percussion instruments.Applications are accepted in four categories: "stringed instrument section", "percussion instrument section", "woodwind instrument section", and "brass instrument section".
Every year, many junior high and high school students from all over the country participate, and it is an opportunity to announce the results of daily practice and a good place for junior high school and high school students to interact.
