This year marks the 58th Soto Zen Youth Calligraphy Exhibition.
This year marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Zen Master Keizan Shokin, the founder of Sojiji, the head temple of the Soto sect.
Zen Master Keizan inherited the Dharma from Zen Master Tetsutsu Gisuke and Zen Master Jakuen, and passed on the Dharma to many disciples including Zen Master Asan, his second ancestor.
This passing of Buddhist teachings from master to disciple is called ``shojo'' and is the theme of this year's calligraphy exhibition. We look forward to seeing the heartfelt works you receive from your teachers.
