The ability to use knowledge and skills such as thinking, expression, and judgment are the abilities that will be tested in the standardized university entrance exams from 2025, and are also important abilities in the coming era of facing and solving unanswered questions. . Fukui Prefectural Katsuyama High School, which established the 2022 Inquiry Special Advancement Course, was the first in Fukui Prefecture to introduce the evaluation tool "Ai GROW" that objectively visualizes this ability using AI.

In order to develop "the ability to utilize knowledge and skills", not only is it necessary for each school to devise lessons, but it is difficult to evaluate with conventional tests because it includes various abilities, and the evaluation criteria tend to be ambiguous.Katsuyama High School, the only high school with a regular course curriculum in Katsuyama City, has established a new department, ``Special Advancement Course,'' to focus on inquiry-based learning, which has been fully implemented in high schools nationwide since 2022.In the future, in order to promote inquiry-based learning at the core of inquiry-based advanced courses and general courses, we will introduce “Ai GROW” as an evaluation tool that ensures external objectivity, in addition to developing our own rubric evaluation*. bottom.

“Ai GROW” is a service released by Institution for a Global Society Co., Ltd. in April 2019, and is an evaluation tool for visualizing and cultivating the strengths of each student. In addition to the self-evaluation of students, we have adopted a method of "mutual evaluation" in which students evaluate each other. can be corrected to fairly visualize 4 types of "power to use knowledge and skills to solve problems".Currently, it has been introduced in more than 25 elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools in Japan and overseas, and in 250 prefectures (including Fukui Prefecture's first introduction this time).

Through the introduction of "Ai GROW," Katsuyama High School will regularly visualize the development of students' diverse qualities and abilities beyond conventional academic ability, and will verify the educational effects centered on inquiry-based learning.

* Rubric evaluation is an evaluation method that uses a table to measure the degree of learning achievement.Clarify the performance of "skills", "expressiveness", "thinking ability", and "judgment" learned in discussions and group work, and the attitude of tackling issues such as "interest / interest", "motivation", and "attitude". can be evaluated.
