Since 2014, the National Institute for Educational Policy Research's Higher Education Research Department has been conducting a "Survey on the Learning Situation of University Students, etc." for students enrolled in universities and junior colleges nationwide.This time, we announced the results of the 2016 survey on the daytime part of the university.
The survey was conducted in November 2016, and 11 people enrolled in the daytime department of universities and junior colleges nationwide responded.
According to the survey, the average time per week for "class preparation / review, etc." was 1 hours and 2 hours in the first and second years of university, respectively.This is about a quarter of the class attendance time. The average weekly rate for the third year is 4.9 hours, which is about the same as for the first and second years. In the second half of the 5.4th year, there were few courses taken, which was the shortest at 4 hours.
Looking at the preparation / review time for classes in the 1st and 2nd years by major, preparations for "medicine / teeth / medicine", "nursing / health", "science / engineering / agriculture", etc.・ It was found that the review time tends to be long.However, in any major field, the mode is "1 to 5 hours", and while attendance time is around 20 hours, it cannot be said that the time for preparation and review is sufficient.
The average time for "learning outside of university classes" is 1 hours in the 2.1st year, 2 hours in the 2.6nd year, 3 hours in the 4.0rd year, and 4 hours in the 4.8th year, and it is gradually increasing as the grade goes up. ..In the response distribution, "1 hours" was the most common in the 2st, 4nd, and 0th years, with 52.8%, 48.2%, and 43.1%, respectively. In the third year, "3-1 hours" was the most common at 5%, but "39.0 hours" was the second highest at 0%.
The influence of the course after graduation can be seen in the study time other than the university class, and for professionals such as civil servants, doctors, lawyers, and students in the third year or above who wish to go on to graduate school, "3 hours or more" There was a tendency for the proportion of to be slightly higher.
