The 12th General Assembly of the National Federation of Public University Promotion Members, which is organized by members of the Diet of the literary tribes, was held at the First Members' Office Building in Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. We have agreed to make efforts to obtain the budget of the university.
According to the Japan Association of National Universities, 23 members including former Secretary-General Takeo Kawamura (private), acting chairman Tetsuo Saito, acting secretary-general of the Komei Party, and 41 members acting as secretaries from the Japan Association of National Universities, National University Association, Public University Association Executives, Hokkaido University, Kyushu University, 11 universities including the National Institute of Natural Sciences, the presidents of research institutes, and the directors of the organization attended.
After greetings by Chairman Kawamura, Acting Chairman Saito, and Deputy Minister of Education, Hideki Niwa, the President of Kyoto University, Juichi Yamagiwa, Chairman of the Japan Association of National Universities, explained the improvement of research capabilities of national universities that seemed to be sluggish. And requested the realization of the tax reform request.
Next, Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President of the Japan Association of National Universities, and Seiichi Matsuo, President of Nagoya University, explained in detail about governance reform and personnel salary system reform.
The Public University Association explained the strengthening and reform of the functions of universities rooted in the region, and Mr. Hiroshi Takimoto, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, reported on the environment surrounding national and public universities and the reform policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
After that, lively discussions were held between the attending members and university officials, and Chairman Kawamura organized the meeting in the direction of making efforts to obtain the budget for national and public universities from their respective positions.
