 This workshop will be held as part of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science's social return and dissemination project "Hirameki ☆ Tokimeki Science".Organized by Professor Hiroshi Yamamoto of the Liberal Arts Institute of Research and Education, Tokyo Institute of Technology.The Liberal Arts Institute of Research and Education was established in April 2016 by the Tokyo Institute of Technology, which is a science and engineering university, to focus on liberal arts education such as liberal arts subjects, Japanese language / Japanese culture subjects, and wellness subjects.

 In the workshop "Visible Old Japanese and Today's Japanese", elementary school students learn about linguistics with graduate students and international students.Words change with the times, and some have different meanings now and in the past.Find such words in old sentences, draw a diagram of how to use the words, and see with your eyes.In addition, we will introduce the "world of words" from the perspective of science and engineering unique to Tokyo Institute of Technology, such as "how to calculate and compare old and present words with a computer" and "relationship between mathematics and language".The target is 6th grade, and the capacity is about 10 people.If there are a large number of applications, a selection will be made.
