A research group consisting of Lecturer Tomoya Sano and Specially Appointed Professor Tomoko Masuda of the Nagoya University Graduate School of Law, Professor Katsuhiko Toyama of the Graduate School of Informatics, and Associate Professor Takahiro Komamizu of the Mathematics and Data Science Education and Research Center was founded in 1886 during the Meiji era. We have developed a database that allows full text searches of laws and imperial ordinances promulgated from 2017 to XNUMX.
According to Nagoya University, the government releases data on laws, government ordinances, ministerial ordinances, and regulations through the web-based database system ``e-Gov Search,'' but only laws that are currently in force or will be enforced in the future are disclosed. It does not provide past laws and regulations.
Therefore, the research group reformed the text data of laws and imperial ordinances developed by the Graduate School of Law into a format that enables seamless connection to e-Gov search, which will serve as a complement to e-Gov search and improve We have constructed a database that allows us to search for promulgated laws and regulations.
The new database will help the public and non-legal experts access legal information, and will serve as a starting point for citizens to understand the law and engage in legislation. The research group believes that this data itself can not only be used as a research resource, but also contribute to the development of data science.
The research results will be presented at the 10th Digital Archive Society Research Conference to be held at the Ishikawa Prefectural Library on the 8th.
