The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) are working to ensure that industry groups with many student part-time jobs are able to comply with the Labor Standards Act and set shifts that do not interfere with their studies due to the so-called "black bite" problem that causes students to work under poor working conditions. Requested a self-inspection.
We requested 7 groups of food service, retail and franchise chains such as Japan Chain Stores Association and Japan Food Service Association, and 7 groups of cram school industry such as National Cram School Cooperative Association and Japan Youth Development Association.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, in a survey released by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in November, 11% of students answered that they had some trouble at a part-time job, and many of the damaged part-time jobs. Pointed out that it was a convenience store or a cram school. In addition, we comply with the Labor Standards Law and require the member companies to carry out voluntary inspections so as not to force students.
The request text also includes examples of supervision and guidance related to student part-time jobs, and introduces illegal cases revealed in the survey. We also posted a voluntary checklist to prevent this from happening, and asked member companies to utilize it.

Prior to this, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has also submitted a request to the Keidanren, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the National Federation of Small Business Associations to comply with the Labor Standards Law and to set shifts in consideration of academics. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will continue to do its utmost to eliminate black bytes by making efforts to educate university students about labor-related laws and regulations.
