Research groups such as Masaki Inoue, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, Tomonori Sadamoto, Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering, The University of Electro-Communications, and Professor Alanya Chakrabolti of North Carolina State University, have deteriorated due to the introduction of renewable energy power generation. We have developed a control method that restores the stability of the power system.

According to the University of Electro-Communications, it is thought that renewable energy such as solar power generation will be introduced more and more in the future, but since the amount of power generation depends on the weather etc., it will have various effects on the power system. It has been reported.

Since the amount of power supply fluctuates greatly, it is difficult to keep a balance with the amount of demand, and it may lead to deterioration of system stability, causing a outage of the generator and a power outage associated therewith. In a power system that has introduced a large amount of renewable energy, technology for restoring system stability is indispensable in order to continue operation with high reliability.

The research group found that the power flow state greatly contributes to the system stability, and developed a power flow state control algorithm that restores the system stability. As a result of the simulation, even if the power system was disturbed, the system stability was improved by appropriately controlling the power flow state.

The research group thinks that it is possible to improve both economic efficiency and system stability by combining it with the adjustment of the amount of active power and the amount of invalid power of thermal power generation whose output can be adjusted.
