[2] What is the difference in consciousness between overseas and Japanese high school students?

So far, we have examined the impact of external pressure on Japanese higher education institutions based on future forecasts up to 2100.However, it is necessary to consider the consciousness of Japanese high school students who go on to higher education.Chart 2012-2 and Chart 1-2 are excerpts from the survey "Survey on Life Awareness and Study Abroad of High School Students" (2) conducted by the Japan Youth Research Institute.

chart_2-2

This survey targets high school students in Japan, the United States, China, and South Korea.

According to the response results shown in Chart 2-1 Japanese high school students do not think "I am a valuable person" compared to other countries, but feel "I am a bad person" and "I am very satisfied with myself." It turns out that he is in the mood of "I can't do it."Looking at the question items shown in Chart 2-2, Japanese high school students said, "I can't express my opinion clearly," "I can't do what I was charged with," "I'm afraid of failure," "I can't stand on my own," and "I can't stand on my own." I am aware that "I don't like it" and "I can't take leadership" ...

I've been following this research for many years, but it hasn't changed much.I am amazed at the difference in consciousness of Japanese high school students when compared to other countries. It can be seen that despite the evolution of science and technology and the arrival of a society in which people from all over the world collaborate naturally, "Japanese people are humble and profane" is not enough.

It is unpredictable how the consciousness of domestic high school students will change as society changes drastically until 2100, but it seems necessary to assume the current consciousness.

In the first place, are Japanese high school students looking for high outcomes, wanting to study abroad, can they voluntarily study at an online university, or can they learn with the same consciousness as high school students around the world?

Unlike the times when it was expected that a better school history would lead to a better life, as symbolized by the image of high school students who said that a career of their own size would be sufficient from various surveys asking about their future career feelings. The current situation in Japan is that there are many high school students who are not highly motivated to study.
