The "Hama Bunko", where this valuable manuscript was stored, is a collection of 939 Japanese and Chinese books (about 2500 volumes) related to Chinese theater collected by the late Professor Kazue Hama of Kyushu University. The process leading up to the discovery was described in the 2016 diary of Lu Xun's younger brother and professor of Peking University, Zhou Saku, which was published in 1939, stating that "a manuscript of" Harusui "will be presented to Professor Emeritus of Kyushu University."
