Since the conclusion of the basic agreement with Katsushika Ward in March 2009, as a result of considering a reorganization plan aimed at improving the value of the university, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has advanced education and advanced education while strengthening cooperation with off-campus institutions. In April 3, the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences will be relocated from the Noda Campus (Noda City, Chiba Prefecture) to the Katsushika Campus in order to carry out research.
Furthermore, in order to develop the Katsushika Campus as a base for the creation of new technologies and new industries, the name of the Faculty of Engineering Science was changed, and the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science, was reorganized and integrated into the Department of Applied Physics (tentative name: 440 students).In April 2023, the Department of Functional Design Engineering (tentative name: 4 students) will be newly established to have five departments.
After the reorganization, the Faculty of Engineering Science has eliminated the boarding education at the Oshamambe Campus in the first year, and has implemented a four-year integrated education at the Katsushika Campus.The Oshamambe Campus will be considered for use as a place for education for internationalization.
With the implementation of these plans, some of the undergraduate student capacity of the Noda Campus (1,000 in the Faculty of Pharmacy and 320 in the Faculty of Science and Technology) will be moved to the Katsushika Campus, and the first year students in the Faculty of Basic Engineering (1) in the Chomanbe Campus will also be Katsushika. Move to campus.
