Professor Morisawa (Information Communication Laboratory), Department of Information Society, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Saitama Institute of Technology, and Architect Co., Ltd., which operates a general construction business in Fukaya City, have created a user-participatory interactive event using the hemispherical dome theater “à Repos”.・Developed an art system. We named it "Re*FLECTIONS".

Professor Morisawa and the architect have been conducting joint research since April 2021 with the aim of developing applications that take advantage of the special foamed polystyrene building (dome house). The dome house has a unique shape with excellent earthquake resistance and heat resistance, and is attracting attention both in Japan and overseas as a functional building with excellent sound characteristics from image projection.

The dome theater "à Repos" is a 100) visual experience with video using the dome house's hemispherical screen, 3) an auditory experience with a spatial sound design that utilizes the sound effects of the dome house, and XNUMX) an original blend using XNUMX% essential oils. It features an immersive experience with three experiences: an olfactory experience with a unique scent. In developing "Re*FLECTIONS," the research group started an experiment to measure the biometric information of users who experienced the content of "à Repos."

In the joint research, by incorporating interactive elements into "à Repos", we aimed to develop content that everyone can enjoy and be healed. In order to make the most of the feeling of being wrapped in a hemispherical screen, "Re*FLECTIONS" uses 360-degree images and sounds that give a sense of natural fluctuation, based on experimental results regarding images and relaxation effects.Using the software "TouchDesigner®" developed by Derivative, which allows intuitive operation using a visual programming language, anyone can move freely in "à Repos" and experience a highly immersive interactive expression. .

The first content of "Re*FLECTIONS" to be released this time is "Water Pop" where water flows appear in response to the movement of the user's body, and "Fukka World" where the popular character of Fukaya City "Fukka-chan" appears. . In "Water Pop", you can surrender yourself to the constantly changing movement of water in response to the movements of the user and feel the sensation of being wrapped up. “Fukka World” is a mysterious world where “Fukka-chan,” a popular character from Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, drifts, and you can play with “Fukka-chan,” which changes in a lovely way according to your movements.
