In April 2023, Saitama Institute of Technology and Aisan Technology Co., Ltd. announced that they had signed a partnership agreement. In order to promote the social implementation of autonomous driving, we will strengthen cooperative relationships in the development and construction of autonomous driving vehicles based on Autoware (open source software for autonomous driving systems) and participate in various demonstration experiments. We will also work together to respond to "Level 4", which fully automates driving.

Aiming for the spread of autonomous driving, the revised Road Traffic Act was enacted and enforced from April 2023, 4, permitting "Level 1", which fully automates driving in specific places. As a result, level 4 public road driving will be lifted.Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism have set a goal of deploying demonstration tests of autonomous driving at 4 locations nationwide by 2025, and full-scale implementation of autonomous driving technology is expected to begin in the future.

In 2017, Saitama Institute of Technology started autonomous driving demonstration tests on public roads in its hometown of Fukaya City. In 2019, we developed a self-driving microbus, and in 2021 we developed a large bus, and have participated in self-driving demonstration tests on public roads all over the country. In fiscal 2021, we will drive more than 1 km per year with automated driving and promote research and development.

On the other hand, Aisan Technology started research and development in the field of autonomous driving in 2010.So far, we have not only provided high-precision 500D map data in more than 3 projects that boast the top level in Japan, but also demonstrated autonomous driving in over 100 various fields with autonomous driving vehicles using Autoware. I've been experimenting and running. In addition, we are actively working on advanced content such as the first domestic initiative such as remote automated driving using multiple vehicles and automated driving using 5G communication.

In the future, Saitama Institute of Technology and Aisan Technology, based on a partnership agreement, will (4) discover social needs related to autonomous driving technology, (XNUMX) develop autonomous driving technology and improve the environment that meets social needs, and (XNUMX) develop Autoware, an autonomous driving open source. (XNUMX) Technical study for social implementation of autonomous driving technology as a next-generation mobility service; (XNUMX) Promotion of industries related to autonomous driving technology; We will actively work on the development of autonomous driving technology, bus vehicle development, and demonstration experiments that meet social needs, including the response to .
