Since 2006, students at the Department of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, Okayama University, regardless of grade, have been attending a five-day training program in Thailand, led by faculty members from the Department of Health Sciences, around September every year.Thailand is home to many offices of international organizations, and university personnel are dispatched around the world as health and medical experts by organizations such as the WHO, so there is a great deal to learn.

In addition, the Department of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Okayama University has an interdepartmental agreement with Thailand's Seema Sarakham College of Nursing (Mahasarakham Province), which allows for extensive university tours and interaction with students. We also conducted tours of general hospitals in Thailand, alternative medical facilities, and visits to village activities and homes to learn about the current state of local health. In recent years, students from Seema Sarakham College of Nursing have been visiting Okayama University every year, learning about each other's culture, medical care, and welfare, and actively engaging in mutual exchange.

This training included a tour of the ICU and emergency medical facilities at Mahasarakham Hospital in northeastern Thailand, practice in traditional Thai medicine and traditional Thai massage at the Thai Traditional Medicine Clinic, and hands-on experience in community health at Ban Wang Pathum Tambon Health Promotion Hospital. I learned a lot about Thai health and medical care through hands-on experience. In addition, the students were able to deepen their interactions with Thai students and learn about Thai culture and the lives of Thai students, providing them with valuable experiences that will lead to their future.
