At a board meeting held on January 2024, 1, Seibi Gakuen Educational Corporation decided to suspend student recruitment for Seibi Gakuen Junior College (Kita Ward, Tokyo) from 20 onwards.

Amid a decline in the 18-year-old population and changes in social conditions, the number of enrolled students continued to fall below capacity, and as an educational corporation it became difficult to provide financial support to maintain the junior college division. Until now, we have been exploring all possibilities for the continued existence of the junior college, but we have now decided to suspend recruitment with the assumption that the school will be closed.

From now on, we will do everything in our power to ensure that all current students, including those enrolled in 2024, can enjoy a fulfilling student life until they graduate, and we will sincerely provide employment support and secure career paths. Additionally, the Alumni Association will continue its activities with alumni as usual. After the school closes, the educational corporation will handle the issuance of various certificates and other necessary documents.

Seibi Gakuen Junior College was founded in 1960 based on the educational philosophy of its founder St. John Bosco. The school has an educational system consisting of two years of early childhood care and one year of major, and has practiced inclusive childcare, including implementing a basic program for childcare for children with developmental disabilities as part of its original curriculum. The campus, which is closest to JR Akabane Station, includes the corporation's Seibi Gakuen Kindergarten, Seibi Gakuen Elementary School, Salesian International Gakuen Junior and Senior High School, and Seibi Home, a children's care facility.
