Azabu University will strengthen support for the development and sales of pet food "KOMORO PREMIUM" made from Japanese deer meat produced by Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture. The idea is to build a social system where wild animals and humans can coexist by recycling and effectively using wild sika deer.

Venison is attracting attention as an ingredient with the triple beats of "high protein," "low fat," and "rich in iron." Venison pet food has been commercialized as dry food, jerky, and wet food, and pet dogs and cats. Therefore, it is highly evaluated as "increasing appetite".

In Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture, in response to the increase in damage to the ecosystem and agricultural products caused by wild sika deer, a processing facility "Komoro City Wild Birds and Beasts Commercialization Facility" with well-managed hygiene was established in the city, and the captured sika deer are processed in a fresh state. However, we develop and manufacture high-quality venison pet food as "KOMORO PREMIUM" *.As an advanced initiative, Komoro City's wildlife management has received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award from the 28 Bird and Beast Countermeasures Excellent Activity Awards (Group Division).

As an animal science expert, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Azabu University has supported venison pet food produced in Omori City from a research perspective, and has cooperated in wildlife management and increasing the added value of pet food.In the future, it plans to expand cooperation in the development of new pet food products, research on maintaining the health of dogs with useful bacteria, and human resource development related to wildlife countermeasures.
