Azabu University will establish the Analysis Center of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences from 2021 to promote the activation of research and education through the efficient operation of analytical equipment and medical physiological testing equipment. In addition to shared use within the university, we will also promote use in off-campus collaboration with industry and regions.
The newly established analysis center has departments for environmental analysis, food analysis, and clinical testing, and centrally manages equipment that was previously managed and operated separately in each department and laboratory of the Faculty of Life Sciences. ..This will enable efficient operation and shared use, and will strengthen cooperation between educational and research activities between departments and laboratories.
Another feature of the analysis center is that it owns both analytical equipment used for physicochemical research and medical physiological examination equipment used for clinical examination training.Furthermore, by making it possible to use highly specialized analytical equipment owned by the university outside the university, we will expand cooperation with other universities, high schools, various research organizations, etc., as well as private companies.
It is difficult for some private companies to own and operate expensive analytical equipment in-house, and it is expected that sufficient analysis and evaluation will not be possible.・ Support for evaluation. In collaboration with high schools, we are proceeding with a plan so that high school students from educational cooperation schools (partner schools) can utilize analytical equipment as part of their inquiry activities.
The main equipment in the analysis center is a scanning electron microscope (SEM), a transmission electron microscope (TEM), an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), and a high-speed liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (LC-MS-MS). )etc. The training device is equipped with an electroencephalograph, an electromyogram, a respiratory function test device, an ultrasonic diagnostic device, and the like as physiological test devices.
