The Cabinet Office has started recruiting for the second 2016 "Brain Healthcare Challenge".We solicit innovative ideas for non-medical products and services, and scientifically evaluate the impact of proposals on brain health through empirical trials.Activities under the innovative research and development promotion program "Realization of a vibrant life through visualization and control of brain information" by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Cabinet Office.
The purpose of the event is to discover new products that promote brain health and to explore the possibility of services suitable for the individual's brain health, for example, exercise for dieting improves the cognitive function of the brain. The aim is to redefine the value of products and services from the perspective of brain health, such as housing reforms that take the sleeping environment into consideration to improve sociality.
For promising ideas, a one-month demonstration trial was conducted with the cooperation of research institutes such as RIKEN, Kyoto University, the University of Tokyo, and Tokyo Institute of Technology. Brain information will be acquired and analyzed by MRI imaging, and changes in the state of the brain before and after activity will be evaluated using the program's unique brain health index, and the effects on brain health will be verified.
The recruitment period is from July 2016th to August 7th, 19.After that, the documents will be examined by experts, and the winning ideas will be announced on the website in mid-September.Some of them will proceed to demonstration trials, and the results will be announced at the public symposium on February 8, 18.
