Saitama Institute of Technology and Architect Co., Ltd. (Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture) are conducting joint research on April 2021 to develop a "relaxation system using a dome house" that takes advantage of the characteristics of a special expanded polystyrene building (dome house). It started from the day.
The "relaxation system by the dome house" is the "visual experience" that utilizes the hemispherical structure of the dome house to enter the world of images by utilizing the entire wall as a screen, and (3) the "auditory experience" by the spatial acoustic design that utilizes the echo sound. , ③ An experience-based relaxation space that combines the three senses of "smell experience" with the scent of a blend of essential oils.
In the joint research, the effects on the mind and body of the subjects who experienced this system will be evaluated and verified in collaboration with the Information and Communication Laboratory (Professor Yukihiro Morisawa), Department of Information and Social Studies, Faculty of Human and Social Studies, Saitama Institute of Technology. We aim to develop a unique system based on evaluation data in order to propose healing spaces required by facilities.
The relaxation evaluation results of users who have experienced this system are analyzed from various perspectives, including the physical (objective) aspects obtained from biological information and the psychological (conscious) aspects of the evaluation questionnaire conducted after the experience, and are scientific. We will examine the main factors of a total care system with a high relaxation effect based on evidence.
Professor Morisawa specializes in "xR technology" *, and in the joint research, he plans to conduct an evaluation experiment on the healing effect in order to identify the functions that users demand for the "relaxation system by dome house".
* "XR technology" is a general term for VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), MR (Mixed Reality), and SR (Substitutional Reality).
