Sophia University holds an English speech contest "John Nissel Cup" by high school students.It was founded with the desire to improve English proficiency by making presentations in English and to give high school students a chance to grow as human resources who will play an active role on the world stage in the future.
The theme for 2020 is “Breaking the Chains that Bind Us”.When judging at the competition, whether the content, the strength of the feeling of "I want to tell the other person!", The ability to express my thoughts and thoughts in English, and to deliver them to the listener in my own words, rather than the accuracy of English.
