According to Tokyo Medical and Dental University, the university's philosophy defines the reason for the existence of Tokyo University of Science as ``to explore scientific progress and human happiness, and to create new value together with society.'' The logo has the name of the English university, ``Institute of SCIENCE TOKYO,'' written in blue next to a symbol in the shape of the ``S'' for ``Science.''
The special website also provides detailed explanations about the university's abbreviation, brand colors, use of logos, etc.
More than 6,000 people, including people from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, participated in workshops and surveys to develop the philosophy and logo. Although a certain number of students expressed their image as ``bold and passionate,'' there were many others who described their image as ``steady and rational,'' and these voices are reflected in the company's philosophy and logo.
