The list of countries where GCPEA has recorded an increase in attacks includes Burkina Faso, Colombia, Ethiopia, Mali, Myanmar and Nigeria.

 The number of military and non-government armed groups using schools and universities for military purposes has more than doubled in the two years of 2020 and 2021.Educational institutions are used as bases for military operations, soldier barracks, and camps.
