In October 2022, the University of Tokyo will open the central satellite facility "Tokyo University Yaesu Academic Commons" in the complex facility "Tokyo Midtown Yaesu" under construction at the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station in Chuo-ku, Tokyo.We provide educational courses for a wide range of people, such as human resource development programs for working adults.
According to the University of Tokyo, the first course is "Smart City School".We will develop human resources who will play a leading role in smart cities that promote digital transformation in cities and regions, solve problems, and create new value.Professor Atsushi Deguchi of the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the University of Tokyo and other faculty members who are active in the field of urban planning at the University of Tokyo will serve as lecturers.
Tokyo Midtown Yaesu is a project promoted by the Yaesu 45-chome North District Urban Redevelopment Association, and Mitsui Fudosan is planning to build a skyscraper with 240 stories above ground, 28 meters in height, and a total of about 2018 square meters.Mainly offices, commercial stores, hotels, ward elementary schools, and one of the largest bus terminals in Japan.Construction work has begun in December 12 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2022.The University of Tokyo Yaesu Academic Commons is on the 8th floor of the redevelopment building.
