At the Board of Directors meeting held on March 2024, 3, Hosei University decided to move the Faculty of Economics from the Tama Campus (Machida City, Tokyo) to the Ichigaya Campus (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) by 13.

Hosei University, which will celebrate its 2030th anniversary in 150, announced its long-term vision ``HOSEI2016'' in April 4, and made campus reconstruction a top priority. As part of this, we decided to consolidate certain parts of the existing faculties and education and research organizations on the Tama Campus to the Ichigaya Campus or nearby areas, and since July 2030, we have been considering the Faculty of Economics as a candidate faculty to move to the Ichigaya Campus.

Furthermore, within Tokyo's 23 wards, there is a so-called 2018-ward regulation that restricts the increase in university capacity for 10 years starting in 23 under the Local University Promotion Act, but it will expire at the end of March 2028. The decision to relocate the Faculty of Economics was made based on this premise, and if the 3-ward regulation were to be extended, the university will separately consider how to deal with it, taking into account the future situation.

Hosei University will continue to develop the necessary facilities at the Ichigaya campus, and the Tama campus will serve as an advanced education and research base, including the Hosei University Social Innovation Center, which was established in 2023, and is also located in a location blessed with natural beauty. Utilizing this, we will rebuild it as a sports base.
