The Tokyo University of Science, which will celebrate its 2031th anniversary in 150, will establish the Faculty of Global Information Studies and the Department of Science Communication in the Faculty of Science's First Department in April 2026 (plans are currently under way). In order to realize "TUS, which opens up the future of the world," we will strengthen cutting-edge information science and technology, and with a view to expanding our base, we will strongly and multifacetedly promote the development of information-related human resources across the university.

The Faculty of Information Studies will be the first new faculty in 1993 years since the Faculty of Business Administration in 33. The new school is scheduled to be established at the Noda Campus in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture, and will include a department, the Department of Information Science and Engineering. We will introduce a course system so that students can determine the field they want to pursue after enrolling and proceed with their studies independently. The plan is to establish a total of four courses: the ``Computer Science Course'' and ``Intelligent Media Course,'' which cover computing, and the ``Data Science Course'' and ``Social Systems Course,'' which cover data analysis and operations.

The existing Department of Information and Computing Science and Department of Management Systems Engineering will stop recruiting students after enrolling in 2025, and the capacity will be transferred to the School of Information Science and Technology. At the same time, the admission capacity of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering will be changed.

The Department of Science Communication, which is scheduled to be newly established in the Faculty of Science's First Department, will be located on the Kagurazaka Campus in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, as the only department in Japan with the title ``Science Communication.'' The knowledge and abilities necessary for modern society, such as "information/data science," "STEM/STEAM," "science communication," and "educational technology/learning science," as well as the deep specialized knowledge in science and mathematics subjects that Tokyo University of Science has cultivated over the years. In a well-balanced combination, the ability to "convey" advanced "science" to a wide public, the use of information technology, scientific perspectives and ways of thinking, the ability to independently respond to the digital society, as well as the ability to cooperate with others and learn. , aims to cultivate communication skills for teaching.

In addition, with the aim of developing human resources who will be responsible for the dissemination (education and dissemination) of science (science), including the field of information technology, we will aim to develop human resources who will be responsible for the dissemination (education and dissemination) of science (science), including the field of information technology. We envision a wide range of career paths, including not only educational institutions, but also government offices, the educational industry, the media, science museums, and start-up companies in the education and information fields.

Regarding the regulation to suppress the increase in admission capacity of universities in Tokyo's 2028 wards, which will be in effect until 23, information systems in the fields of science and engineering will be returned to their pre-enrollment capacity seven years after the increase in enrollment. Exceptional measures have been taken to ease regulations, limited to faculties and departments. For this reason, the Kagurazaka Campus will reduce the number of students in each department within the 7 wards in 7, seven years after the establishment of the new department.
