Tokyo University of Agriculture made sake using flower yeast isolated from the flowers of the rose variety "Princess Michiko" and presented it to the imperial family.The brewing funds are raised by crowdfunding, manufactured by seven graduate breweries such as Nanbu Bijin in Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture, and distributed to supporters as a celebration sake.

 According to the Tokyo Agricultural University, Princess Michiko is a rose with rounded orange flowers and was dedicated by Dickson Roses in Northern Ireland in 1966, when Empress Michiko was the Crown Princess.Tokyo University of Agriculture received a large amount of Princess Michiko's petals from Keisei Rose Garden in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, and succeeded in separating flower yeast.In the trial brewing, it is said that the sake has a refreshing acidity and aroma reminiscent of fruits such as apples and melons.

 Called the "Princess Michiko Project" from December 2018, we recruited supporters from all over the country, and at that cost, seven breweries each brewed sake with about 12 kg of rice.

 He explained to the Imperial Household Agency the history of the use of rose flower yeast and crowdfunding, and presented it to Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.

 Limited 7 sets of sake were brewed, each set from seven breweries.Of the funds collected through crowdfunding, the proceeds excluding the costs used for brewing will be donated to victims of natural disasters such as the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake.
