Keio University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, will start research aimed at elucidating the neural basis and pathophysiology behind each symptom of "Autism Spectrum Disorder / Autism Spectrum Disorder *".We are currently looking for research collaborators.

The symptoms of "autism spectrum disorder / autism spectrum disorder", which is one of the developmental disorders, are very diverse and difficult to grasp. It is not yet known in detail what kind of neural basis or brain mechanism causes the various symptoms of the parties. In addition, unlike physical symptoms, mental symptoms are difficult to clarify by examination and are difficult for people around to understand. However, due to recent advances in brain measurement technology, we are entering an era in which invisible psychological symptoms can be scientifically elucidated, albeit little by little.

Therefore, in this research, we performed neuropsychiatric tests, head MRI tests, special electroencephalogram tests, and special blood tests to elucidate the mechanism of the brain corresponding to various mental symptoms, and "Autism spectrum disorder / autism spectrum disorder". Aim to establish a new test and treatment method. This will be the first research in Japan.

Currently, we are looking for research collaborators who are 13 years of age or older who have been diagnosed with "Autism Spectrum Disorder / Autism Spectrum Disorder" by a psychiatrist at a medical institution. The findings obtained in the research are not only used for research purposes, but also the individual test results are summarized and fed back to each participant in writing. The total inspection period is 3 to 4 days, and each time is about 3 to 4 hours.Registration of collaborators is done from the registration form of the Psychiatric Pathophysiology Laboratory of Keio University School of Medicine.

* "Autism spectrum disorders / autism spectrum disorders" are typically symptoms such as "persistent disorders in social communication and interrelationships" and "limited and repetitive behaviors, interests, and activities."
