In April 2020, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Kanazawa University will newly establish a joint major in integrated science in the doctoral program of the graduate school. Following the Master's Program in Integrated Sciences, which was established in April 4, both schools will provide their respective fields of expertise and create new knowledge that fuses the knowledge of multiple scientific fields.
According to the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the names of the newly established majors are the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, the Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, and the Kanazawa University, the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences. The maximum number of students is 5 from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and 14 from Kanazawa University. The degrees to be awarded will be Doctor of Science, Doctor of Engineering, and Doctor of Fusion Science. This is the first doctoral degree in fusion science in Japan.Entrance exams are held at both schools.
Both schools have three types of innovation: life innovation that creates a healthy and high-quality lifestyle, green innovation that creates next-generation materials, devices, and energy that are suitable for the environment, and system innovation that builds a future society in which science and technology are in harmony with people and society. Set a challenge. It aims to develop the ability to analyze, model, visualize, and design data.
Since the establishment of the Master's Program in Integrated Sciences, the two schools will challenge learning in different specialized fields, saying that the creation of new knowledge that will be the source of innovation will be born from the fusion of multiple scientific fields that transcend the framework of existing scientific fields. We are jointly conducting field-integrated graduate school education.
