On June 2020, 6, Toyo Gakuen University held the first online simulated job hunting in the compulsory class "Career Design" for third graders.
Toyo Gakuen University established a liberal arts education center in 2006. Based on the philosophy of "a university that responds to changes in the times," we are engaged in research and development, planning, and management of lesson subjects related to liberal arts.In recent years, we have been focusing on first-year education and career education subjects to acquire basic skills for working adults, and from 2019 we have invited a career consultant as an interviewer to the compulsory class "Career Design".We are focusing on "simulated job hunting" that provides group interview guidance and group discussion guidance just like the actual performance.
In 2020, we will carry out online mock job hunting to support online interviews and online group discussions.Teachers and e-learning professionals who have experience working at the front lines of companies and ministries will also participate, and will face the job hunting market that has changed drastically due to the influence of the new coronavirus. We will also hold an SPI countermeasure course by TAC, a school that teaches major qualifications.
In the compulsory class "Career Design" held on June 6, 27 third-year students of the Faculty of Human Sciences wore suits and experienced online simulated job hunting. From the students, "I could feel the atmosphere of the interview", "I was nervous, I couldn't understand what I wanted to say and I couldn't turn my attention to my smile", "I found out that I was not good at it", "I had a lot of problems." I would like to simulate it again. "Through online mock interviews and group discussions, students looked at themselves objectively and noticed their weaknesses, which seemed to be a big win.
The instructor in charge said, "I can see the attitudes and movements of each person more than I thought online. I wondered if the students knew that, and I was doing my best to speak positively and communicate to the other party. It is a good opportunity to be able to see the situation objectively. "The class will also be held on July 7th and 4th for third-year students in the Faculty of Global Communication and the Faculty of Contemporary Business Administration.
