At Azabu University, on the occasion of the 2020th anniversary of the school's founding on September 9, 10, we are promoting the Azabu Education Reform Project "Azabu Future Project 130" centered on the educational philosophy "One Health for Global Symbiosis".We will work on five reforms of human resource development for the new era.
Azabu University has been working on two reforms, "promotion of data science education" and "promotion of education that makes the most of the characteristics of Azabu University".The university-wide data science development course "Global Symbiotic Data Science" and "Global Symbiotic Data Science / Exercise" that take advantage of the characteristics of universities that conduct specialized education and research on the themes of "people, animals, and the environment" "Science work for symbiosis with the earth" has been set up.
Celebrating the 130th anniversary of its founding, this time, we announced three new reforms. He declared that he would work on "expansion of first-year education and career education," "design of a comfortable study schedule," and "promotion of education open to the public."
In "Expansion of first-year education and career education," we will further evolve education that makes use of the characteristics of undergraduate departments, such as field studies learned in the field and a platform for standardizing qualifications.Introducing university learning from high school ・ Emphasis will be placed on connection education, and the acquisition of basic skills necessary for university students and the acquisition of basic knowledge skills necessary for receiving specialized education will be enhanced.In addition, while expanding the range of learning through data science education programs and taking courses in the global symbiosis system, we are developing education that emphasizes practical training and implementing education that supports student career development.In addition to the national examination qualifications, we will create an environment where qualifications can be obtained beyond the boundaries of faculties and departments regarding the acquisition of various qualifications related to food, environment, animals, etc., and support career development after graduation.
In "Designing a study schedule with plenty of space", up to now, 2-minute lessons of 1 classes per day have been conducted "2 times" for half a year with 50 basic credits, but it has been shortened to "15 times" from 2021. ..Students will be able to actively engage in various learning other than lectures, such as club / club activities and internships, on a relaxed schedule.
In "Promotion of Education Open to the Citizens", in order to contribute to society with the abundant human resources and research results accumulated in the university, we will make use of the achievements of the "Education Seminar from Azabu University" that we have conducted so far. We will strengthen and expand public seminars and recurrent education in order to meet the social needs for recurrent education that re-educates working adults.
Azabu University will implement these reforms in sequence during FY2020, and each related program will be introduced individually at a later date.
