Due to the results of the project period from 2014 to 2019, online classes in 2020 will be operated without major troubles, and the conversion to online education methods such as blended learning and hybrid classrooms is progressing.
At Shibaura Institute of Technology, all classes in the first half of 2020 are online, and about 3% of the classes in the second half are conducted face-to-face.Online lessons include "real-time lessons using Zoom," "on-demand lessons using video distribution," and "flipped classrooms that combine on-demand preparation and real-time lessons."
The learning management system (LMS) developed in this project also has a flipped classroom support function, which is utilized for online learning for preparation and review, and even in 3% of face-to-face lessons, with students who take online from home. In the ex-post evaluation, there is evidence of a "SIT portfolio" for visualizing learning results, which displays learning data imported from each system such as grades, reports, attendance status, review of learning entered by students, and out-of-class study time.・ It was evaluated that it is expected to spread to education as a pioneering system that contributes to the promotion of academic management on a base basis.
