To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of its predecessor, the Agricultural Training School and the Sericulture Examination Section, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology opened a new building in the current Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, where the former Ministry of the Interior Kangyoryo Naito Shinjuku branch office was located, and where the agricultural training school was located. will hold a commemorative event in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment's Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Management Office.

 According to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the commemorative event will consist of a special exhibition, lecture, and workshop. The special exhibition will be held at the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden Information Center Art Gallery from May 3th to the end of June, and is titled ``Weaving the Nation: Looking to the Future from the Place of Origin of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.''

 Six lectures will be held from June 6st to September 1th at the Information Center Lecture Room, covering a wide range of topics including insects, gardening, and future silk materials. Lecturers will be faculty members from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, including Professor Takeshi Suzuki of the Graduate School of Applied Bioresources and Assistant Professor Sakura Takahashi of the Faculty of Agriculture. Each session has a capacity of 9 people, and the target age group varies each session.

 Additionally, President Kazuhiro Chiba will give a lecture on Saturday, September 9th from 7:14 pm in the same lecture room entitled ``Towards a future where life is worth living in harmony with nature.'' Capacity: 50 people, targeted at junior high school students and above.

 The theme of the workshop was "Learning the Mysteries of Genetics with Silkworms." It was held a total of four times on June 6rd, targeting students from fifth graders of elementary school to third graders of junior high school. Together with students from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, participants will learn about the characteristics and genetics of silkworms. Each session is 23 minutes long, limited to 4 people.

 In addition, an old map digital map ``150th Anniversary of the University of Agriculture and Technology, Starting from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden - Walking through Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in 11'' will be released on May 5st, which can be enjoyed by overlaying location information on your smartphone or tablet. A related lecture will be held on June 1th by Project Assistant Professor Yurika Saito of the Science Museum.

 All lectures and workshops are free, but advance registration is required. However, we will accept applications on the day if there are seats available.
