The research groups of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research, Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., Tohoku University, and Nagoya Institute of Technology have been working on the software "Semantic Editor" for creating graph documents in the field of companies, education, and civil administration in about five years from 2020. Writing and reading comprehension is important for communication in social activities, but there are individual differences in their abilities.On the other hand, using semantic authoring (creating a graph document that graphically represents the logical connection of text content with arrows, etc.) makes it easier to understand the content and improves the accuracy of evaluation and judgment, so it is also high quality at the AI technology development site. It is attracting attention as learning data, and there is a demand for easy-to-understand document expressions due to the spread of online non-face-to-face communication.
In this development, RIKEN will design the SE extension, evaluate usability, and feed it back to the design and implementation.Oki Electric Industry will add a natural language dialogue function and a knowledge acquisition function to semantic authoring, and develop business productivity improvement technology based on the joint creation of in-house documents.
In addition, Tohoku University will build a learning support for reading and creating graph documents, learning support for critical thinking through graph document communication, and an educational / learning support environment for various subjects.Nagoya Institute of Technology handles decision-making support and researches and develops technologies that enable the search and recommendation of content and data that can be used as the basis for decision-making.
As groupware, it is said that it will contribute to the spread of SE by making it free software that anyone can freely expand and modify.
