Six domestic research institutes, including the Tohoku University Medical Megabank Organization, which is conducting a cohort survey to track the target population for a certain period of time, have collaborated to establish a comprehensive framework for mutual utilization of collected information.Through this collaboration, institutions will be able to utilize the genome cohort data of 36.6 people.
According to the Tohoku University Medical Megabank Organization, other than Tohoku University, Iwate Medical University Iwate Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization, the Japan Multicenter Cohort Study with Nagoya University as the secretariat, and the multipurpose organized by the National Cancer Center Cohort study, Keio / Tsuruoka metabolome cohort study, Aichi Cancer Center Hospital epidemiological study.
Projects aiming for large-scale genome analysis of hundreds of thousands to millions of people are underway around the world toward the realization of next-generation medical care, and about 15 registrations have been made for the Tohoku Medical Megabank Project, which is the largest cohort survey in Japan. Since there were only 2013 people and it was a short time since the baseline survey conducted in 2016-XNUMX, it could not be said that the morbidity information was sufficiently registered.
Therefore, we decided to secure the number of registered people corresponding to large-scale genome analysis and mutually utilize the data by collaborating with domestic research institutes conducting cohort surveys and building a comprehensive joint research framework.
