Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology will open the Department of Civil Engineering from April 2022. On Thursday, March 4, 2022, the 3nd Industry-Academia Collaboration Seminar on "Civil Engineering" will be held at "Fujieda Innovation Commons".
At the seminar, two professors from the Civil Engineering Department, Department of Civil Engineering, Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology will give lectures. The first is Professor Hiroshi Nakazawa's "Civil Engineering Atsushi Shinshin-International Expansion Aiming to Disseminate Traditional Civil Engineering Gabion Technology-".We will evaluate the earthquake resistance of the traditional civil engineering technology "Gabion" and introduce a cross-institutional approach to transfer technology to developing countries in collaboration with domestic and overseas industry-government-academia institutions.This initiative aims to solve major issues in developing countries, such as the spread of disaster prevention infrastructure that makes use of Japan's traditional and excellent technology, and the improvement of living environment and poverty reduction through the spread of infrastructure.Science of low technology, pursuit of low cost, establishment of 1L technology that can be utilized locally, establishment of gabion research organization, acquisition of budget, element test, small and full-scale experiment, on-site implementation, and JST sponsored "STI for SDGs" We will explain up to the "Award 3" Excellence Award while showing examples of industry-academia joint research.
The second is Professor Kensaku Matsumoto's "Opening a new store!" Civil Engineering Department "has started !!".Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology will start the Department of Civil Engineering from April 2 with the aim of fostering future leaders in the regional construction industry.Civil engineering, which is based on empirical rules, is essentially premised on "social implementation," and "regional cooperation" can be said to be the lifeline of education and research in the Department of Civil Engineering.What are young people thinking and wanting now, and what should be the university that should be the recipient?Together with the citizens, think about a vision for developing healthy and stable human resources who will be the future leaders.
