Nagoya City University will establish a new Faculty of Life Sciences in April 2018.This is the first public university in the Chubu region to establish a Faculty of Science, and it will be the first new establishment in 4 years since Nagoya University in the three Tokai prefectures.
According to Nagoya City University, the enrollment capacity of the faculty is 40.The Department of Comprehensive Life Sciences will be set up within the faculty and will be set up on the Yamanohata Campus in Mizuho-cho, Mizuho-ku, Nagoya.Taking advantage of small-scale faculties, instead of choosing a specialized field at the time of admission, after studying a wide range of science as a whole, select the specialized field you want to study.
Collaborative classes with other faculties are also planned, and radiobiology for new faculties will be offered at the medical school, and exercises will be conducted at hospitals.At the Faculty of Pharmacy, students take biostatistics with the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.In collaboration with Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens and Nagoya City Science Museum, students will participate in practical training held locally.We are also planning a curriculum that will allow us to obtain a kind of license for a high school teacher of science.
Nagoya City University has six faculties: medicine, pharmacy, economics, humanities and sociology, arts and engineering, and nursing, and the Faculty of Comprehensive Life Sciences is the seventh faculty.The entrance examination will be held in the second half of the year in order to increase the chances of students who wish to take the entrance examination for the Faculty of Science in the Tokai area.
