Infectious diseases assuming a large-scale outbreak of passengers at Tokyo Port on the training ship "Umitaka Maru" of the Faculty of Marine Science, Tokyokaiyo University, anchored at Toyomi Fisheries Wharf on October 2017 and 10, 25. On the first day of the training, after receiving a report of the outbreak of a patient suspected of having an infectious disease on board, information transmission training was conducted from the Tokyo Quarantine Station of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to related parties, and for students of the advanced course on board. A lecture on infectious diseases was held by the Tokyo Quarantine Station. On the second day, practical training such as rescue offshore and response after berthing was carried out, and the students experienced not only the tour but also the role of a patient.
The students who participated seemed to understand the danger of infectious diseases on board and the importance of countermeasures.
In addition to the Tokyo Marine University Kaitaka Maru, the training participating organizations are Tokyo Quarantine Station, Tokyo Coast Guard Department, Tokyo Customs, Tokyo Fire Department Rinko Fire Station, Chuo-ku, Tokyo Health Center, and Daito Corporation Agency Department Tokyo Agency Division.
