そこで、今回、富士フイルムの持続除菌環境清拭材「Hydro Ag+ アルコール60%（クロス／スプレー）」を使用して、3～5カ月間、神奈川県内の公立中学12校の全学年・学級（総学級数：148、総生徒数：4,035名）で拭き消毒活動を行い、インフルエンザ様疾患発生状況のモニタリングを実施。生徒の机回りは1日1回、教卓、電灯スイッチ、ドアの取っ手部、階段の手すり、トイレの座面等の「高頻度接触面」は1週間に1回以上拭き消毒を実施した。
その結果、2018年9月1日～2019年3月31日の全国の教育施設におけるインフルエンザ発症率は30%、1学級でも学級閉鎖が起きた教育施設は全国で77%、神奈川県で91%だったのに対し、対象校では同期間のインフルエンザ発症率が10%、学級閉鎖は1件も起きなかった。このことから、「Hydro Ag+ アルコールクロス/スプレー」を用いた環境消毒を実施することでインフルエンザ集団感染抑制効果が期待できる。
