Kenjiro Gun, Chairman of the Public University Association (President of Nagoya City University) and others visit Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga of the government and request that the government provide financial support to each public university for the design of a free higher education system. I handed over the request form.

According to the Public University Association, the request is in the name of the county president and addressed to Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga. The request was attended by Vice President Yozaburo Shibata (President of Fukuoka Prefectural University), Vice President Hiroshi Kito (President of Shizuoka Prefectural University), and President Yoshiyuki Futami of Yokohama City University.

The Public University Association stated in a request that public university students have lower household incomes than national and private university students, and that free higher education is most needed for public university students. He expressed his welcome as a policy.

Free higher education will be implemented all-Japan with the consumption tax as a financial resource, and there should be no difference in the way of support depending on the type of establishment of national, public and private universities. We strongly urge that the financial measures to be provided are clearly distinguished from the financial measures for basic expenses, and that the system be designed to be directly supported by the government.

The chairman of the county also visited the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and handed the same request to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Yoshimasa Hayashi, to Hiroshi Yoshimoto, Director of the Higher Education Bureau, Akinori Mori, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Hiroshi Takimoto, Deputy Director General.
