Currently, in the field of education, efforts are being made to develop the qualities and abilities that will enable students to live independently in a digital society.Kio University is also promoting mathematics, data science, and AI education, as well as establishing a next-generation education center.As part of this, starting in 2023, the Faculty of Education's Department of Modern Education will offer a junior high and high school mathematics teacher certification course.To commemorate the new establishment, we will hold a commemorative lecture and symposium titled ``Educational Reform in a Digital Society'' as an opportunity to deepen our knowledge about education in the future digital society.

　In the first half of the program ``Educational Reform in a Digital Society,'' Mr. Ory Yoshifuji, Representative Director and Director of the Ory Institute, held a commemorative lecture titled ``Changes and Possibilities in Educational Forms.''Mr. Yoshifuji, who is from Nara Prefecture, is known as the developer of the alter ego robot "OriHime" and won the Good Design Grand Prize in 2021 as one of Japan's leading robot researchers.

　In the second half, a symposium titled ``Educational Reform in a Digital Society - Exploring the Possibilities of Combining Mathematics and Science and Diversifying Learning'' will be held.Hitoshi Shibata, assistant director of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Education and Industry Office, and Kio University faculty members will be on stage.Mr. Shibata is in charge of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's ``Future Classroom'' demonstration project, which uses one device per student and various EdTech technologies to demonstrate a new way of learning under the new curriculum guidelines.
