Kanazawa Institute of Technology's Regional Disaster Prevention and Environmental Science Research Institute and the Department of Environmental Civil Engineering have begun an investigation into the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day 6. The Regional Disaster Prevention and Environmental Science Research Institute, located on the Yatsukaho Research Campus, is equipped with the latest large-scale research equipment and conducts research on evaluating and improving the safety of architectural structures, as well as the construction and utilization of regional disaster prevention and environmental systems. etc. In our research activities for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, we investigated the damage to long bridges such as Shinminato Bridge, Notojima Bridge, and Twin Bridge Noto, as well as areas surrounding Kanazawa City (Kanazawa Port area/Uchinada, central area/around Kanazawa Castle, and suburbs). It reports on the status of damage to areas (hills), as well as the status of investigations into tsunami damage, ground disasters, liquefaction damage, and bridge damage.
The Department of Environmental Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, which studies disasters and disaster prevention, is conducting a survey of the Noto Peninsula earthquake as part of its research and social contribution activities.
