Eight foreign students enrolled in Showa Women's University will participate in a tourism-type internship program for foreign students jointly planned by Showa Women's University and Tobu Railway for five days from February 8 to 2019, 2.This is the first time that Tobu Railway has accepted an internship for international students in collaboration with a university.
In this tourism-type internship program, eight foreign students (nationality: China, South Korea, Vietnam, Russia, Poland) are divided into two teams, the Asakusa / Nikko team and the Ikebukuro / Kawagoe / Ogawamachi team, and are in charge of Tobu Railway. While learning about hospitality and customer service unique to Japan, you can actually experience guidance services at station information centers and station counters.
In addition, each team will visit sightseeing spots in each area such as Nikko's shrines and temples, Lake Chuzenji, Kawagoe city tour, Japanese paper making experience, and sake brewery tour.Exchange opinions with the person in charge of the Nikko City Tourism Association and the person in charge of Kawagoe City Hall about the attractiveness and issues of the area from the perspective of foreigners.
International students will disseminate the attractions of Japanese culture and along the Tobu Railway that they discovered through the tourism-type internship program on SNS and other media.
