Kogakuin University has developed a vehicle unit (D-ZEV) that handles communication and power generation in the event of a disaster.

Kogakuin University, which has a campus in the west exit area of Shinjuku Station, will become the west exit local headquarters in the event of a disaster, and will play a role in supporting regional confusion prevention and emergency activities. In addition, based on the track record of safely accommodating a large number of people who have difficulty returning home during the Great East Japan Earthquake and the confusion around the station, we will work to resolve various issues from the perspective of "area disaster prevention" together with the Shinjuku Station Area Disaster Prevention Measures Council. I am working on it.

As part of the "area disaster prevention" research, we developed a self-sustaining mobile zero energy unit (D-ZEV) that handles communication and power generation in the event of a disaster with the aim of preventing confusion in the event of a disaster.Utilizing solar power generation and Wi-Fi, information can be transmitted even when power is cut off immediately after a disaster.

It was scheduled to be demonstrated at "Soramenade Haneda Ryokuchi de Hakyu ♪" scheduled for October 2019, 10 in Ota Ward, but the event has been canceled due to stormy weather. The plan is for two bicycles equipped with transmission / reception terminals to run around Tenkubashi Station in two parts. We take pictures assuming damage (injured people, collapsed buildings, road breaks, etc.) in the residential area, and automatically share information when two cars approach each other. It was announced that the shared data would be sent to the one-box car at the event venue and projected and shared on the vehicle-mounted monitor.

Kogakuin University's "area disaster prevention" efforts have been further accelerated with the adoption of the "Private University Research Branding Project" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2016.New initiatives for regional cooperation disaster prevention drills and the development of support equipment in the event of a disaster, which make use of the expertise of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Informatics, are being improved toward completion in March 2020.
