"Hodge Podge" in the project name "Hiroshima Hodge Podge Project" means "collection", and when making patchwork bags, a company, a welfare facility for people with disabilities, and a university gathered together to proceed with the project. The reason for launching the project was at the beginning of 2020, when considering what to do with novelty goods used in Eikei University's public relations activities, "Is it possible to produce something that is conscious of social contribution and problem solving?" It was a discussion.From various ideas, "a bag that utilizes the residual cloth of the apparel industry" was mentioned as an example, and when we asked for cooperation from companies in the prefecture, we usually hem up from the school uniform store "Itoya Co., Ltd." You will be provided with the remaining cloth for school uniforms that will be disposed of free of charge.
Sewing will be ordered from "Social Welfare Corporation Hiroshima Hearing Impaired Welfare Association I Love Workshop" and "Social Welfare Corporation Orizuru Orizuru Workshop" with the cooperation of "Hiroshima Prefectural Employment Promotion Center". By joining together the remaining cloths from various schools, the patchwork bag "Uni-Hodge Podge" with different personalities was completed.
By combining the product name with Uni, which means "one", we emphasized the unity that respected "diversity", which is one of the university's principles, and made it reminiscent of University and Uniform. ..The patchwork bag will be on sale from January 2021, 1 at "Fureai Plaza" in Hiroshima City.
