Kyoritsu Women's University and Kyoritsu Women's Junior College will announce three university initiatives in 12 with the keyword "food loss reduction" in the 2020th goal of SDGs "responsibility to make and use" as "Kyoritsu Women's SDGs Day". Zoom online event will be held on February 3, 2021.

 In recent years, environmental issues that have been comprehensively taken up by the United Nations in the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" and are attracting international attention.Kyoritsu Women's University and Kyoritsu Women's Junior College are also highly interested in environmental issues, and since 2011, they have published their "Efforts for Environmental Learning" on their website. In the message of President Kiyoshi Kawakubo on the occasion of 2020, it was stated that the SDGs should be promoted in education and research.

 In addition, in the "Regional Collaboration Project", we have been working on activities that meet any of the goals of the SDGs since 2020, and at this online event, we will announce three initiatives with the theme of "reducing food loss".

 The content of the presentation is a problem-solving class (PBL) "One-day restaurant" with the theme of fishery resources and the disposal of squirrels between Professor Tomoko Kondo's seminar (graduation exercise) of the Faculty of Home Economics and Utatsu Junior High School in Minamisanriku Town.Students of the food and health course "Nutrition Experiment" of the Department of Life Sciences devised a recipe using the discarded "leaves" of the local vegetable "Kawachi Aka Kabura" in Fukui Prefecture "Vegetable mottainai project", volunteer students "Food Drive" initiative to widely solicit food left in homes and workplaces "Kyoritsu Stand Up! Project", the above three initiatives.

 After the presentation, there will be a talk session and a question and answer session.Anyone can participate if they are interested.Those who wish to participate should apply by using the application form on the Kyoritsu Women's University website by 2:24 on February 15 (Thursday).The reception is on a first-come, first-served basis and has a capacity of 70 people.There is no membership fee.
