Tohoku University and Akita International University, both of which have campuses in the Tohoku region, have signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with the aim of promoting mutual learning of classes taught in English, the creation of a credit transfer system, and the promotion of joint research.By sharing each other's strengths and networks, we aim to strengthen our educational and research capabilities, and develop global human resources from Tohoku who can compete in the world.
According to Tohoku University, the agreement signing ceremony was held at Tohoku University's Katahira Campus in Aoba Ward, Sendai City, where Tohoku University President Hideo Ohno and Akita International University President Monte Casem exchanged the agreement.
Collaborative projects include the creation of a credit transfer system, pre-enrollment exchanges for students, joint research by faculty and staff, and dispatch exchanges.Prior to the conclusion of the agreement, as the first step of the collaboration, students scheduled to enter Tohoku University from March 1 are undergoing pre-entrance training at the Akita International University campus in Akita City, Akita Prefecture.
