Seisen Women's University plans to open the Faculty of Comprehensive Culture and the Faculty of Global Citizenship in April 2025 (tentative names and plans in progress). This is the first time in 4 years since Seisen University opened a new faculty in 1950 that Seisen University will now have two faculties.
Since its founding, Seisen Women's University has adopted Christian humanism as its founding spirit, and has cultivated human resources who can think, judge, and make decisions for themselves through small-group education and personal interaction. With a two-faculty structure, we aim to develop students who will develop the ability to survive in today's rapidly changing society and take action to create a better society by pursuing "human beings" and "society" more deeply.
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences will be a progressive reorganization of the current four departments: Department of Japanese Language and Literature, Department of English Language and Literature, Department of Spanish Language and Literature, and Department of Cultural History.・Cultural history area). We pursue ``what it means to be human'' from the perspective of the humanities, and through a wide range of cross-disciplinary learning, we cultivate human resources with multifaceted perspectives. The enrollment capacity is 4 students.
The Faculty of Global Citizenship will be separated from the current Department of Global Citizenship and will consist of one department and two areas (regional coexistence area and social design area). We will newly incorporate learning in digital fields such as design and media, expand interdisciplinary and practical learning to solve social issues, and foster change makers who will transform society. The enrollment capacity is 1 people.
Please note that both faculties are still under construction and the content may change.
