The Education Information Center of Sobunsha Co., Ltd. conducted a questionnaire on the university entrance examination portal site "University Examination Path Navi" for high school students and ronin about the external examination of English to be used for university entrance examinations.
According to the questionnaire, out of a total of 1441 respondents, 651 responded that they would use the English external test for entrance examinations.About 9% of them answered that they plan to use "Eiken" (89% for general entrance exams, 93.3% for recommended / AO entrance exams).In other external tests, "GTEC" (general admission 12.8%, recommendation / AO admission 15.7%), "TEAP" (general admission 16.2%, recommendation / AO admission 6.0%), "TOEIC L & R, S & W" ( General entrance exam 8.3%, recommendation / AO entrance exam 10.4%).
Currently, at universities that use external examinations and take entrance exams, Eiken can be used for more than 9% of entrance exams (adoption rate 94.4%).It seems that the high versatility of this university entrance examination has influenced the results of this questionnaire.In terms of the recruitment rate on the university side, "TOEFL iBT 81.5%" and "GTEC CBT 81.5%" are the second highest after "Eiken".
From 2020, the "Common Test for University Admissions" will be held in place of the Center Test for students enrolled in April 2018 after the first year of new high school. On March 4, 1, the National Center for University Entrance Examinations announced an external test that can be used for common tests.Eiken / TEAP / TEAP CBT / IELTS / TOEFL iBT / TOEIC L & R, S & W / GTEC / Cambridge English Test are certified.
In the Eiken test, the "conventional type", in which those who fail the primary test cannot take the secondary test, is not adopted because it does not meet the requirement of "evaluating all four English skills in one test". And the "new method" was certified. Although the management method of the "new method" is different, the problem structure, grade certification, score by skill, etc. are the same as the "conventional type", and the "conventional type" is still available for each university's own entrance examination. ..
